Muscle Strain

Muscle Strain|Bayside Chiropractic

A muscle strain can happen either when the muscle has been stretched beyond their limits or forced to contract strongly. See a Bayside Chiropractor.

A muscle spasm is a sudden contraction of one or more muscles. It reduces the movement of muscles, which makes it a painful condition. A muscle injury,  known as the strain has three grades between 1 to 3. Grade 1 refers to mild damage of muscle fibres, Grade 2 refers to extensive damage, and grade 3 refers to complete rupture of muscles. If your muscle has torn apart, it will be called rupture. When muscles get injured, there is always a trigger point (TP) or myofascial trigger point. This creates sensitivity in muscles even when the injury has been healed completely.

A professional chiropractor like Bayside Chiropractic diagnoses TPS through the muscle manipulation and history of injury. After completing the diagnosis and spasm released, the TPS has been treated. This will be done with the help of manual pressure that is quite uncomfortable until the point melts completely. Apart from this, other treatments include spray stretch techniques using a cooling agent or dry-needling with acupuncture needles.
